IMPERIAL's FIRE BARRIER LATEX PRIMER/PAINT
Test Results - Foam Tests
Test: ASTM-84-98 (Class
"A" Rating Building Materials) Observations: Ignition was noted after 23 seconds followed by charring and melting of specimen directly exposed to flame. After an additional 15 minute burn, the sample showed no evidence of significant progressive combustion. The flame front did progress to 6.0 feet at 13 minutes and showed no further progression. NOTE: This numerical flame spread rating is not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions.

Test: Test: UBC 26-3, Room Fire Test Standard for interior of foam plastic systems
Substrate: 7/16" Oriented Strand Board (OSB)
Method: 14mil dry coverage of sample with Fire Barrier Latex on 8 x 8.' back and side walls and an 8 X 8' section of the roof of the test room. Room subjected to fire from 30 lb. crib for 15 minutes. Criteria: Test specimen shall not be charred at the extremities. Additional, specimen shall not produce excess smoke during test. Although not specified, flashover is considered to be an extreme type of failure. Flashover is judged to have occurred when heat flux at the floor level exceeds 20 k W/m2, upper level air temperatures exceed 1100 degrees F or flames project out the room door opening. Observations: Char thickness above and around the crib area was approximately 4 to 6 inches. No charring of the panels at the extremities were observed. Flashover did not occur. The sample tested met all criteria of the UBC 26-3 test procedure.
